How Lessons Work and Fees

online tuition

A typical lesson follows a four-pronged approach of:

  1. Recall: A short mixed starter covering a variety of topics to strengthen long-term retention
  2. Learn: New concepts are taught in manageable steps through clear explanations and worked examples
  3. Practice: Students apply their learning through guided and independent practice, with support available throughout
  4. Consolidate: Work is marked live during the lesson and followed up with relevant homework exercises

All lessons are delivered online, allowing students to learn from the comfort of their own home. They are interactive and collaborative, using digital tools and a shared whiteboard that enable students and me to work together in real time, just as we would in a face-to-face lesson. This creates an engaging learning environment where students can ask questions, work through problems and receive immediate feedback throughout the lesson.

Students simply need:

  • A laptop or computer
  • A stable internet connection
  • A quiet place to work

For the best experience, I recommend using a writing tablet, which allows students to work collaboratively on the digital whiteboard and receive feedback in real time. While not essential, it can significantly enhance the online learning experience and help lessons feel even more interactive.

Fees

One-to-one online maths tuition at £50 per hour inclusive of:

  • Personalised lesson planning
  • Interactive online teaching
  • Live feedback and marking
  • Targeted homework and review
  • Ongoing progress monitoring
